Why Compete

More Than a Competition

The Patriots Protect Games exist to honor what first responders and military heroes do every day — and to give them a field where being the best earns something real.

Unite the Thin Lines

Firefighters. Police. EMS. Military. Veterans. Hospital heroes. One field. One purpose. The Patriots Protect Games bring every branch of service together on America's birthday.

Compete With Purpose

Every event entry contributes to the PP Community Fund. Your competition directly funds veteran mental health, first responder programs, and Gold Star families.

Founding Year Advantage

2027 is Year One. Founding-year competitors earn a permanent Patriots Protect Games badge on their PP profile — a mark that no future participant can ever claim.

The Events

Six Ways to Compete

Team divisions, individual events, and a Community 5K open to everyone. Every branch of service has a field — and a shot at the shield.

Base vs. Base

Military Installation Challenge

Active-duty installations field their best athletes to compete in a series of tactical fitness and combat-readiness events. Think strength, speed, strategy, and unit cohesion — Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, and Space Force all on the same turf. Points accumulate across individual and relay events. The base with the highest combined score takes the shield.

Badge vs. Badge

Law Enforcement Agency Face-Off

Police departments, sheriff's offices, federal agencies, and task forces compete in events designed to mirror real-world law enforcement demands — tactical obstacle runs, precision challenges, communication drills, and team relay events. Your badge earns your entry; your crew earns your glory. The agency with the highest score raises the shield.

Station vs. Station

Fire Department Competition

Inspired by the iconic Firefighter Combat Challenge, Station vs. Station pits fire departments against each other in full-gear events: charged hose lines, aerial ladder climbs, victim rescue simulations, and team-based structure events. Departments register by station number. The station that fights hardest takes home the shield and a donation to a fallen firefighter fund of their choice.

Hospital vs. Hospital

Healthcare Heroes Competition

Trauma surgeons, nurses, paramedics, EMTs, and hospital teams compete in events designed to honor the mental and physical demands of emergency medicine. Events include speed triage challenges, stretcher relay races, and endurance events that reflect what it means to be the last line between life and loss. The hospital with the best combined showing earns the shield — and bragging rights in the break room.

Unit vs. Unit

First-Responder Open Division

No installation? No badge? No station? No problem. The Unit Division is open to any team composed of veterans, retired law enforcement, retired firefighters, military spouses, or mixed-service groups. Assemble your unit of six and show up. Events span strength, speed, and team problem-solving. This is the wildcard bracket — and often where the most legendary moments happen.
